Coach Tours of Scotland

Choose escorted coach tours of Scotland for your next vacation if you would like to eliminate the stress and hassle of trying to plan each day’s itinerary. Although self-drive vacations provide a greater degree of independence, it comes at a price: the driver misses the best scenery -  trying to navigate unfamiliar roads to get to the next destination can be hard work!

Escorted tour packages leave you plenty of time to explore on your own and provide a relaxing way to make the most of discovering a new destination.  Enjoy the breathtaking scenery while the driver-guide provides an informative and often humorous commentary on the key sites and rich Scottish history -plus some little-known facts.

Consider joining the “Bonnie Scotland” tour if you would like to see the major sites and are limited to only a week for vacationing.

This tour begins in Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, for the first night’s stay and an introductory welcome dinner. The next morning, you may catch yourself humming along to the familiar song -

Oh, you’ll take the high road, and I’ll take the low road,

And I’ll be in Scotland before you;

But me and my true love will never meet again

On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.

as your luxury motor coach follows the “bonnie banks” of Loch Lomond on the way to the romantic Isle of Skye (by ferry) for your next overnight stay.

After a good sleep and hearty breakfast, you’ll be off deeper into the spectacular Highland’s scenery as you travel to Inverness for a chance encounter with Nellie, the elusive Loch Ness monster and an overnight stay in Grantown-on-Spey.  The tour package includes stops at a sheepdog facility and a whisky distillery on the way to Dundee for an overnight stay.  You’ll also visit Braemar, home to the Royal Highland Games for over 900 years, and St. Andrews before reaching Scone Palace, the site where the Kings of the Scots were crowned and rightful home of the “Stone of Destiny” (also known as the Stone of Scone - currently located at Edinburgh Castle.)

Then it’s off to Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh, for 2 night’s stay.  Visit stately Edinburgh Castle and the Queen’s Holyrood Palace, with a short sightseeing tour to familiarize you with the city.  You’ll have lots of time to explore independently before returning to  Glasgow with a stop at the New Lanark World Heritage Site on the way.

Upon arriving back in Glasgow, you’ll be treated to a tour of the city before returning to your hotel for the final night’s farewell dinner.  These coach tours of Scotland are a great way to visit the country and see the major sites in only a week.
